How Can i Lose 30-35 Pounds By The End of The Year?

i’m about 30-35 pounds overweight. i’d like to lose this weight by New Year’s so i can start out the new year looking great and feeling good about myself. how should i go about losing this weight?

what is a good diet? i’ve heard really good things about the South Beach Diet…but is it really as good as it sounds? how much weight can i expect to lose per week with this diet?

i’ve also heard that you should start off each diet with a cleansing diet. is this true? what are some good cleansing diets?

does acai juice really help you lose weight? how? where can i get some?

what types of exercises should i do? i’m going to start going to an exercise class with my mom 2x a week…and i have access to a treadmill, elliptical, bowflex, etc…but i dont know where to start!

how long should each workout be? how many times per week? what is the best time of day to work out?

any other tips? all are appreciated.

Can you lose weight fast? Yes.

It will be water weight and harm your health but you can do it.

A good diet is balanced with healthy doses of protein, carbs, and fats. There is no miracle diet and healthy weight loss at best is 2 lbs a week.

cleanses are only good if you have balanced eating habits, or are changing toward them. Otherwise it is waste of time and effort.

acai juice/supplement diets are hype. It’s not a miracle fruit, it’s just healthy eating.

Start with the treadmill shoot for 5x a week

Keep it to 30 minutes for start then increase.

Tip: Stop looking for miracle weight loss, it doesn’t exist. Good luck

My son’s secret life?

I’m concerned about my son. He’s 17 years old, he’ll be graduating high school this year. He have been taking a college course at community college ever since he was a junior. He also is highly ranked in ROTC and leader for raider team and is one of very few to be on physical fitness for three years. He also is an accomplished varsity wrestler. And have been doing mixed martial art ever since wrestling season was over during his freshman year. He even had done a couple boxing, kickboxing, and grappling matches and always did very well in them.
I’m very proud of everything he did. But what bothers me is, lately I’ve been learning lot of things that really bothers me.
Outside of ROTC and mixed martial arts, he has very few friends. Almost all of them are female friends from college who are rather odd. They all dresses really odd, many have unnatural hair color, and other things. Most of them appear to be in early 20’s. My son hangs out with them way more than anyone else. I tried to not let it get to me at first.
However I start to find blood stain on his shirt, I start to find scars on his body that he’d try to hide if asked about it, and other things.
We also notice he never panic when he saw his own blood, in fact he seems to like the sight of it.
A couple days ago, we installed a software on computer that would allows us to see what our kids are doing on the computer (we’re more worried about our three younger children). To my shock, I found a couple pictures of some of those girls he hang out with drinking blood and playing with blood.
We also found from his online journal that he basically do wrestling and mixed martial arts simply because he get thrills out of it and hurting other people and getting hurt.
He also states some things he have done that we didn’t know of. He talks about sneak into abandoned building, climbing then reppell down a very tall building in our city at night, falling off cliff and crashed through branches when he went on some rock climbing, biking sixty miles to beach and almost died when he got caught in rough wave, pulls some pranks off, getting in fight, and other things.

We also learned that my son have been lying about where he was majority of the time. Often he’d say he’s at library, training late, and other things so he can do all those dangerous things. We also learned on weekend, he’d regularly go out to meet foreigner tourist and hang out with them and play guide for them.
We haven’t told him anything about this since we don’t want him to find out we were spying on him and other kids.
Not long ago, he came and told us he plans on joining the army and wants to go to recruiting office. We thought it’d be ok since he’d probably get accepted in a good university. But now he wants to go in as 11X (infantry/special force) with airborne school as option instead of attending a university that he got accepted into!
I am having very hard time to deal with all of this. I don’t even know if I should approach him about any of those things. I used to think he was a really good kid. But now I feel like there may just be another whole world that we didn’t know of. Is there any possible underlying issue behind this whole thing?

first of all i don’t think any parent should spy on their kids… no matter what… the blood and scars are probably from him self harming… it’s not a suicide thing.. it’s just a way to express pain… the friends that he hangs with.. are probably nice people.. and they were probably drinking red cordial or something like that just for the photos… the only way u are going to find out and get ur son help if he needs it.. is to be honest with him… tell him u spy on him.. tell him u think he needs help.. don’t yell at him.. ask him to explain why… good luck

How can i get a sexy bikini body?

Hey dolls and gents! Obviously spring is here which means more and more people are hitting up the board walk and getting baked out on the beach. I love the beeach but id love it even more if i got a bikini body. I am 5′1 and currenty at 143 pounds. Over weight huh? i know and i want you all to help me figure out a way to shed these nasty flabs! Please if you can list Ideas for workouts, how many times i should work out a day, how long i should focus on each workout, how many calories i should consume, amazing workout DVD names, healthy foods etc. Anything you want to add to help me id appreciate it SOOO much,

just cut yur calories. dont be lazy. walk up & around more. seriously even tho its from the 90’s 8 minute abs is great. also yoga for abs its good to but more long term. it does help. run, tredmill or whatever. ride yur bike& swimm alot. another thing is dancing alot. the ipod is great for dancing to. also there are many exercise or yoga apps tht alou you to listen to music while doing them to help yu stay ‘zoned ‘also certain suits can help shape yur body& hair cuts& make-up, also dont eat before the beach:)

Ok, so I’m going on vacation in July (beginning, so very, very soon!) and i wanted to wear a bikini when going to the beach. I am going to swim every other day (I have a pool at my moms, not at my dads, so I can’t when I’m with him, but I will go biking when I’m with my dad) and I’m going to do ab workouts every day. I’m not fat, but I’m not skinny. I’m puggy and wanna lose the fat on my stomach. If I drink lots of water, eat right, excersize, how much fat can I lose or burn off?

How much does swimming alone burn? plus how long should I bike and swim every day and how long should i do the ab workout for?

I am in college and pretty busy but I would really like to lose some weight, I have started the South Beach Diet but I need a good workout thats about an hour long and will help lose weight and tone up. Anyone got any ideas??

Will I lose weight if i do this?

Breakfast: 2 servings of special k cerial
Snack: Special K Bar
Lunch: 300cal sandwich with celery no ranch and a south beach living bar with water
Snack:celery or granola bar
Dinner: Stew or fish

I play basketball 1 hour 30 min on mondays wednesdays fridays saturdays and 30 min on sunday
tuesday i run for 10 min and bike for 30 min
thursday 2 hours in karate really hard workout

how long will it take me to lose weight and how much
i am 13 and weigh 175 pounds

Make sure you do not starve your body of caleries. Although eating healthy is a good idea it is all a good idea to eat a veriety of foods along with regular exercise. I would suggest making an eating schudual similar to the one you have now but have different foods for each day of the week. If your body does not get these foods then it will think that you are starving yourself and all the food you eat will be trapped in the hard to target places(stomach, hips, chin and soforth) while you are buring off important fats such as the cartalege the hold your bones together.

I don’t wanna lose it super fast, I just wanna lose it haha
I’m 5′9" and 175 lbs last I checked
and NONE of that "extra" goes to my boobs or butt, I’m completely flat in both areas

Most of it goes to my thighs/stomach, and I have these weird love handle things that make my hips look messed up.
I also have a very chubby face that I’d like to get rid of.

I wanna lose about 40 lbs, I think that’s a healthy goal.
Btw, this weight IS effecting my health, it’s not muscle at all, none of it is, can’t even do a push up, can’t run very fast or for a very long time..

I want to try to lose the weight by next year
I may be going on a trip to Hawaii, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand
So that’s alot of beaches and hot weather, I wanna look cute in a bikini and shorts and not like a whale LOL

I’m 14 btw, I don’t really wanna go to a gym or anything and be the youngest one there, talk about embarrassing.

ALSOOOO I know this is posted in the wrong section, the diet and fitness section is full of bots and spammers, so I know I wouldn’t get any good answers there

The perfect diet for me?

Hi, I am into boxing and I am trying to find a diet that will make *me* perform at my absolute best. I’ll try to tell everything about my self to help make it easier to figure out what is best. I am 6′6", 195lbs, athletic build, good/excellent condition, type O blood, and like long walks on the beach(<-joke). I have a workout menu already, but if you would like to add anything; feel free. If you think there are some foods that I should add to my diet, please do tell. Also if you need any additional information please say so.

i play volleyball and my coach always says to eat lots of carbs
and then of course theres the trust old food pyramid, your daily personalized one is:

Grains- 10 oz (5 oz should be whole grain)

Veggies- 4 cups
Dark Green Vegetables = 3 cups weekly
Orange Vegetables = 2 1/2 cups weekly
Dry Beans & Peas = 3 1/2 cups weekly
Starchy Vegetables = 9 cups weekly
Other Vegetables = 10 cups weekly

Fruits- 2 1/2

Milk- 3 cups

Meat and Beans- 7 oz

Oils and Directed calories- 11 tsp
