weight loss help for teens!!!!?

i’m 5′3 or 5′4
15 years old and 140 pounds

i want to get in shape for the summer and lose about 10-15 pounds or whatever is good for my height and weight.
i would love to get the nice "swimsuit" body.
i want to get rid of the arm and belly fat also lose it around my thighs.

right now i am doing week 1 of the south beach diet and i have been running and doing ab workouts.
how long before i start seeing the changes?
how long till i reach my goal.?

Most of weight loss comes from diet. If you follow a carefully planned diet without cheating, it shouldn’t be more than a couple of weeks before your clothes start fitting looser. The diet and the running will handle overall fat loss (which, at your height and weight, you probably don’t need much fat loss). You should probably do dumbbell exercises in order to develop muscle in your arms, and use some weight machines or do squats to harden up your legs. The weight training will also help with the fat loss because not only does it burn some calories (though not as many as running) but muscle requires more calories simply to exist, so you burn more by living when you have more muscle.

Also, if you are a girl, you do NOT need to worry about doing too much with weights and looking like a bodybuilder. Women don’t have the right hormones to get mannish looking unless they are on steroids or following a diet and exercise program that is so extreme it becomes a full time job.

I’m staying at the beach for a while this summer and would like to tone up abit…?

I’m 16, I already workout a few times a week but I’ve started to jog 20 minutes a day on a mini trampoline, 50 sit-ups, and yoga. I haven’t really been eating that much junk food lately either, and I’ve been increasing my fruit and veggie intake :)

I was just wondering how long it will take to see some obvious results and any tips to tone up my stomach and inner thighs a bit quicker :)

More cardio, and more sit-ups. But the cardio is the most important part.

I’m STRAIGHT and I’m 19 years old. I’m kind of white therefore I was thinking about going to Lifetime Fitness where I work out to get a Bronzer? I don’t know what that is, but I think its kind of like a spray on tan? I think I look good with a tan but I don’t want other people thinking I’m gay because I"M NOT. Do you think I should get a Bronzer? what is a bronzer? I don’t want to spend a lot of money on going to a tanning salone so I think this would be cheaper? What do you think I should do? BTW I live in MN so the beach isn’t an option and its not warm right now. Do Bronzers work and how long do they last?

Don’t ever do self tanning, it sucks.
If you do go to a tanning saloon go to tanning bed.
This fake tan , you need to do it every week over and over again if I got it right, and when you stop – it will go down in pieces like you are peeling.
If you want to look good that doesn’t make you gay, having sex with guys does.

CAL STATE FULLERTON TITANS VS. LONG BEACH STATE 49ERS TRAILER

On February 18th, 2009 Long Beach State dealt a heartbreaking loss to Cal State Fullerton when the Titans lost possession on the final play and the ball rolled helplessly out of bounds as time expired, resulting in a 75-74 49ers victory at Historic Titan Gym.

On January 7th, 2010 the 49ers return and the Titans are ready to get payback.

How to get great legs & butt for the beach?

So I want to look great in a bathing suit lol. I had decent legs before, but I haven’t worked out in such a long time. And meanwhile, my butt has shrunk! I had a ghetto booty before rofl, now it’s pretty small and iduno why. So I wanted to know things I can do for my legs and butt ALL AROUND! Not just my quads but my hamstrings too, my glutes and my calves. I can’t do running necessarily because it’s winter here and usually -30 but -50 after windchill on an average day. I’m not in the position to get a gym membership either, so preferably home workouts! Please I could use all the help I can get.

Getting ripped and fit, will swimming help?

Ok I’m 14, and want to get fit and ripped. (I am not fat or anything, I’m actually rather healthy at the moment, but I want to get very healthy and fit, and ripped body). I have been doing crunches, sit-ups, leg lifts, push ups, and that sort of thing. I do boxing 3 times a week also. I’ve heard that swimming gets you a really toned body and makes you very fit- so I want to start. I have a pool, but I really am not a swimmer at all- and I mean I HATE swimming. The beach is fine, but actually swimming I just don’t like it. I prefer 100m and 200m sprints (I’m one of the best in my grade at 100m and 200m sprints). Last time I tried to do laps I felt very sick when I got out haha. Is it because I havn’t swam properly in a long time?

Well, can someone give me some routine help on how I can begin swimming for fitness and getting a toned body?

well, yes swimming is a great cardiovascular and endurance exercise. If you are new to swimming, you should start out small and work your way up. A good way to start would be by doing 50’s, or two laps, at a time, and go from there.
You could time yourself, and try to stay in a time frame (like say you were going to do four laps, you could try to do them in 2 1/2 minutes).
It also helps if you know how to do more than one stroke.

There were over 4,000 at Historic Titan Gym and the game lived up to the hype. The rivalry between Long Beach & Fullerton felt renewed, as Long Beach and Fullerton both were contending for the conference at the time. This game was also was after Fullerton won at Long Beach on a game-winning shot, so there definitely was some revenge factor. Fullerton started off slow, however, it came down right to the wire, and Fullerton for the 1st time (they did it again against UCI later on) that season, had a chance to win the game and couldn’t even get off a shot.
