Hi, I’m 15 and weigh around 155. Im not skinny, but certainly not fat. I workout about 4 times a week on the treadmill for about a half hour. I lift weights, or I try to lift weights about the same amount per week.
I want to loose my lower and mid abdominal fat and have already started workouts to do so. I do a set of about 6 abdominal workouts 3 times a week. The only time I work out my "love handles" though is when i’m at the gym and I only do the free-movement machine that targets this with a 25 lbs. weight.
I wanted to ask mainly though about how I eat and if I should do something different. I have started eating a small serving of cottage cheese and some cinnamon coated almonds for breakfast. I still stick with the White bread sandwich with an apple, some reduced fat chips and maybe a cookie with some Diet Dr. Pepper. For a snack, when I get home….I usually get REALLY hungry. I eat more almonds, a tortillia with peanut butter and maybe some cheese. For dinner I usually have whatever the family has. Chicken, salad, pasta with some butter and salt, meatballs, tonight I had a microwave pizzia after working out. But just whatever my family feels like cooking that night.
At this rate, should I change? If not how long will it take to loose this fat? I want to look good by the summer for the beach
First off, congratulations for picking an exercise and diet routine to make a difference on your body.
Second. Don’t worry about doing specific abdominal exercises to fix your lower back/belly fat – they don’t work. Nothing will target that fat specifically, the only way to get rid of it is to get to a lower body fat percentage. You’ll do this through your diet.
You don’t say if you’re male or female, so I’ll include advice for both. Your calorie maintenance requirements (amount to eat to stay just the same as you are now) will be about 14 per lb of bodyweight if you’re male and 13 if you’re female. So either 2,170 (male) or 2,015 (female). To lose weight you should aim to eat about 20% less than this on a daily basis.
If you’re a guy you’ll probably also care about gaining muscle, so make sure you eat more post workout. I’d recommend cycling your calorie intake so you consume less on non training days and more on workout days. But this isn’t necessary to lose weight, it just has better results for your overeall body shape.
Get to know macronutrients too – so protein, carbohydrate and fat. Protein is most important, it’s relatively low in calories and will help build muscle and keep you full. Carbohydrate is good post workout, but should be limited on rest days (chips and cookies need not apply) because it’s easy to over consume calories from this source. Fats are good – get healthy fat like fish oil and olive oil – but can be over-consumed easily too.
Take control of your meal menu from your family – you need to fix your diet if you really want to lose this weight, training alone won’t get you to the levels of leanness you desire. Good luck!

Do You Want to Look Like a Bodybuilder, Athlete or Thin?
Eventually in life you have to decide: are you going to a hot dog or a weiner? Heres what I mean. WHO do you want to look like? I’m serious, you have to figure out ultimately what your goal is. What do you want to look like? What your ULTIMATE goal is, will effect WHAT you should do to get that body.
There are THREE categories as I see it.
1. Bodybuilders: People that want to look like bodybuilders want size at any cost. Its impossible for a natural amateur bodybuilder to achieve the proportions and size that a steroid using bodybuilder has. Genetics play a huge role as you get super advanced, and only those with the best genetics will be able to pose on stage or look like their role models. Don’t get me wrong, its a noble pursuit, and there are great natural bodybuilders. It takes several years, for some up to ten years or more to gain they would like to achieve. To train for this, bodybuilders should focus always on bringing up lagging areas, and emphasizing your natural advantages. Splits are more important than raw strength, more advanced techniques will be necessary to keep getting results. I do not want to look like a bodybuilder for the record.
2. Athletes: These are people that not only want to look built, are very lean, year around but are powerful and functional. They not only want to look good, they want to perform even better. You can rock that body on the beach, in bed, all day and all night, all right? ALL RIGHT. When I say athletic I mean running backs in the NFL, sprinters, and gymnasts are just a couple of examples. Your focus is on performance, which builds your aesthetics. You care about what numbers you lift in the gym, you care about your health, and you care about how you look. This is where my goal is. To achieve this, foundation work of strength is necessary, anabolic cardio would be a staple, and by this I mean sprints, prowler work, sledgehammer work, circuits, and you eat food to fuel your body and performance. Due to your high volume of exercise, its actually the easiest way to gain size and be lean, just look at those pictures of the NFL players.
3. Thin: These are dudes that want to go after that starving model look. There is nothing wrong with that, for them its all about leanness. For them, Bruce Lee, Tyler Durden are their heroes and the people they would most want to look like. To achieve this look, its all about diet and a high volume of exercise. I would stick with 2-3x per week heavy lifts, full body days to preserve muscle. I would drop all unnecessary carbs, focusing on evenly spaced protein rich meals (5-6) and more traditional cardio than what I normally recommend. Remember, you are all about being skinny and lean. So preserving muscle isn’t your second priority
In my opinion the most noble, sustainable and aesthetic is option two, having the athletic look.
Its the look that EVERYONE can achieve, it has huge cross-over in real life, its the best for your joints, and I think ultimately more satisfying and long lasting. Whatever
Who do you want to look like? Post in the comment section below! Personally if you are going for the bodybuilding look, I much prefer the classic Frank Zane, Ed Corny looks to the GH gut guys of today.

Experience Mombasa Holidays In Kenya
Mombasa is Kenya’s second largest town and its the only sizeable port. It has a recorded history stretching back nearly 2000 years, and was mentioned in the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea, a pilot’s guide to the Indian Ocean written by one Diogenes, a Greek living in Egypt, around the end of the first century A.D. Mombasa was again mentioned by Ptolemy in the second century but then remained in relative obscurity, despite the development of a series of city states by migrant Arabs, until the adventurers, traders and conquerors visited the town beginning with Vasco Da Gama in 1498. Long stretches of idyllic beaches, fringed with palms, screwpines, casuarinas and scented with oleanders and frangipani makes Mombasa a visitor’s paradise.
